Terms of Use

These terms explain the ground rules for using the Library Surgeon website and iOS app.

Effective: 16 July 2026

Agreement to these terms

By accessing this website or using the Library Surgeon iOS app, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use Library Surgeon. The app may also be subject to the terms of the app marketplace through which you obtain it.

What Library Surgeon does

Library Surgeon is a search and inspection utility for videos in Apple Photos. It uses photo-library metadata to help you find, review, and select items. The website provides public product, support, privacy, and promotional information; it is not a web version of the app.

Permission to use the service

Subject to these terms, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable permission to use Library Surgeon for lawful, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, disrupt, or misuse the app or website except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Your Photos library and choices

You choose the level of Photos access granted to Library Surgeon and remain responsible for the items you select and the actions you confirm. Library Surgeon never silently or automatically deletes media. A deletion request is sent through Apple’s PhotoKit APIs only after review, an in-app warning, and Apple Photos’ system confirmation.

Deleted items normally move to Recently Deleted and may continue to occupy storage until Apple Photos removes them permanently or you empty that album. Check your selection carefully and maintain appropriate backups of important media.

Storage figures and metadata

File sizes, totals, availability states, and other metadata may be estimated, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable because they depend on information exposed by Apple Photos and iCloud. Library Surgeon does not claim to measure your entire device or iCloud storage allocation. Verify important information before acting on it.

Availability and compatibility

Features, compatibility, and availability may change as iOS, Apple Photos, and the app evolve. Library Surgeon may be updated, suspended, or discontinued, and uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.

Ownership

Library Surgeon, its website, branding, copy, designs, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of Library Surgeon or your photos and videos. You retain your rights in your own content.

Disclaimer

Library Surgeon is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, all implied warranties—including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement—are disclaimed. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Library Surgeon will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or website. Nothing in these terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as Library Surgeon changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continuing to use Library Surgeon after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.
