Open Photos, choose Collections, scroll to Media Types, then open Screen Recordings. From there you can review and delete recordings. Library Surgeon can also filter screen recordings and combine that filter with duration or known size.
Find screen recordings in Apple Photos
- Open Photos and tap Collections.
- Scroll to Media Types, then tap Screen Recordings.
- Open each recording you are considering and check that it contains nothing you still need.
- Select the unwanted recordings and tap the Bin button.
- Confirm the deletion. The recordings will move to Recently Deleted.
Find the recordings most worth reviewing
The Screen Recordings collection in Photos is useful when you want to browse everything. If the collection is large, start with a narrower question. You may want recordings over five minutes, recordings with a known size above 500 MB, or the largest known screen recordings in the library.
Library Surgeon lets you combine recording type, duration, known file size, date, favourite status, and availability. It does not delete recordings automatically. You preview the results, build a selection, review it, then confirm with both the app and Apple Photos.
Check Recently Deleted before expecting storage back
Deleted screen recordings move to Recently Deleted for up to 30 days. Permanently deleting them sooner removes the recovery option, so make certain that the recordings are no longer needed.
